Niels Otto Møller Model 62 Carver Chair: Sculptural Armchair in Solid Mahogany & Leather, Denmark, 1960s

Designed by Niels Otto Møller in the early 1960s, this elegant pair of Model 62 carver chairs showcases the designer’s mastery of proportion, comfort, and fine joinery. Crafted in richly toned mahogany, these chairs display beautifully flowing lines, with gently curved armrests that transition seamlessly into the backrest — a hallmark of Møller’s refined Scandinavian modernism.

The Model 62 is celebrated for its sculptural yet restrained form. The softly shaped back rail provides excellent lumbar support, while the open, airy frame allows the warmth of the timber to take centre stage. The arms are delicately profiled, offering comfort without visual heaviness, making these chairs ideal as head chairs at a dining table or as occasional accent pieces.

The Model 62 chairs work perfect as a desk chair. These also work great with rosewood furniture  due to their similarities in color.

✨ Restoration Details
Both chairs have been fully restored in-house. The mahogany frames have been carefully stripped, hand-sanded, and finished with a traditional French polish to enhance the depth and character of the grain. All joints have been checked and re-secured where necessary, ensuring excellent structural integrity.

📌 Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The frames are solid and stable, with a smooth, even finish throughout. Minor age-related wear may be present, consistent with authentic mid-century furniture.
